Emmanouil M. Christofakakis is a lawyer at the court of appeals and a certified mediator. He completed his undergraduate studies in Law in Athens, where he continued at postgraduate level in the fields of Constitutional, Administrative and Tax Law, completing the  Postgraduate Diploma in Public Law. In his dissertation he focused on issues of Privacy in Communications and was graded "Excellent".

 

He continued his studies in Frankfurt where he dealt with Corporate and Banking Law and Capital Markets Law and was awarded Postgraduate Diploma with grade an "Excellent" by the University's Institute for Law and Finance. In his dissertation which was also grated "Excellent" he dealt with issues of Financial Crime. He went on as a visiting master student at Columbia University in New York on legal issues arising from the application of new technologies in the fields of Personal Data, Intellectual Property and Commercial Law.

 

In Germany he attended a study program on Arbitration with lecturers specialized lawyers and experienced arbitrators. In 2016 he was trained at the KED in Piraeus and then was certified as a mediator with examinations at the Ministry of Justice.

 

During his stay in Frankfurt he trained in two international law firms in the Banking Law and Capital Markets departments and in the Tax Department of an advisory firm. He also worked at Safeline, which is based in FORTH's IT laboratory, and focuses on preventing crimes committed online.
